CAD to PHP: Today's Rate, and the Fee Hiding in the Spread

The CAD to PHP exchange rate is not one universal number. Published rates on October 8, 2026 varied on major currency platforms. Wise offered 43.6178 PHP per CAD while Pluang had 44.4739 PHP per CAD. Other providers quoted prices between these levels.

This does not necessarily mean that one provider is wrong. Foreign exchange rates are updated at different times and may be based on different market data sources. Some platforms may also calculate a currency pair indirectly via another major currency.

For those who are sending money from Canada to the Philippines, the important question is not just, “What is the rate?” The question is: how many pesos will the recipient actually get after the rate, spread and fees?

What is the CAD to PHP rate today?

Published CAD/PHP rates as of 8 October 2026 varied by provider and timestamp. Wise showed 1 CAD = 43.6178 PHP, while Pluang showed 44.4739 PHP. XE showed a separate mid-market quote of 44.0092 PHP to the CAD.

These variations demonstrate the importance of always referencing a currency rate to its provider, timestamp and pricing methodology.

Today’s published CAD/PHP rates

Provider Published rate Additional data
Wise 43.6178 PHP 30-day range: 42.9971–43.7304
Pluang 44.4739 PHP 52-week range: 40.2185–46.6652
XE 44.0092 PHP Current mid-market quotation

Wise also showed 100 CAD exchanged for 4,361.78 PHP at the rate it displayed.

Pluang’s quoted rate was 44.4739 PHP, down 0.45% from its previous close of 44.6769. The intraday range was 44.4582 to 44.7363.

XE's historical data showed 43.91131047691172 PHP per CAD on October 3, while its converter showed 44.0092 PHP.

CAD to PHP live rate: Why the numbers keep changing

Foreign exchange markets operate continuously during trading hours. Therefore, the live CAD to PHP rate can fluctuate during the day.

A variety of things are weighing on the Canadian dollar. They include predictions for interest rates, pricing of commodities, Canadian economic statistics, changes in the US dollar and global risk sentiment.

The Philippine peso is also affected by local economic conditions, inflation, interest rates, capital flows, and the strength of the US dollar.

Therefore, even without a significant Canada-Philippines event, the CAD/PHP pair can move.

For example, if the Canadian dollar strengthens against the US dollar and the Philippine peso loses against the US dollar, CAD/PHP can climb without any major direct impact on trade between Canada and the Philippines.

This is also why we shouldn’t treat historical data as set transaction rates.

What is the mid-market CAD to PHP rate?

The mid-market CAD to PHP rate is the middle price between the buy and sell prices offered in the wider foreign exchange market. It is a useful benchmark showing what the underlying currency value is before a provider adds its own transaction costs, spread or other charges.

But consumers usually don't get the pure mid-market rate.

The Bank of Canada states that its exchange rates are indicative rates derived from the average of the price quotes of financial institutions. Daily average rates are published once each business day.

A private currency platform could update far more frequently. So an official reference rate and a live converter can validly show different numbers at the same time.

1 CAD to PHP is only the starting point

Suppose the reference rate is 44 PHP per CAD.

At that rate:

  • 100 CAD = 4,400 PHP
  • 500 CAD = 22,000 PHP
  • 1,000 CAD = 44,000 PHP
  • 5,000 CAD = 220,000 PHP

But these figures are the conversion prior to the economics of the transaction for the provider.

Instead, a bank or remittance service may give you 43.12 PHP per CAD.

That would be 43,120 PHP for 1,000 CAD.

So the difference is 880 PHP.

That 880 PHP is essentially baked into the cost of the transaction, even if the provider advertises a low or zero transfer fee.

What is an exchange-rate spread and how does it hide fees?

The exchange rate spread is the difference between the market rate and the rate offered to the customer. Providers can use this margin to make money from currency conversion.

The spread is proportional to the size of the transfer, so it becomes more important for larger transfers.

So imagine a spread of 2% over a PHP reference rate of 44.00:

```
Amount Reference value 2% lower quoted value Difference
100 CAD 4,400 PHP 4,312 PHP 88 PHP
1,000 CAD 44,000 PHP 43,120 PHP 880 PHP
10,000 CAD 440,000 PHP 431,200 PHP 8,800 PHP
```

Hence, looking at the advertised transfer fee alone can be misleading.

Even if a provider doesn't charge any transfer fees, it can still make money on its exchange rate margin.

Why is my CAD to PHP rate lower than the market rate?

The provider will add a margin to the underlying market rate; thus, the rate quoted may be lower. Your provider may utilise a different market data source, and may update its price at a different time, or have different pricing based on your payment method and transaction size.

The thing is to compare the headline exchange rate, not the final PHP payout.

Fixed fee vs exchange-rate spread

A spread and a fixed fee impact your transaction differently.

Assume that a provider charges a flat fee of 10 CAD. Whether you send 100 CAD or 10,000 CAD, the cost will be 10 CAD.

A 2% spread behaves differently.

It would cost:

  • 2 CAD on 100 CAD
  • 20 CAD on 1,000 CAD
  • 200 CAD on 10,000 CAD

The larger the transaction, the more important the exchange rate becomes.

This is especially true for recurring remittances, international payroll, freelancer payments and business transfers.

CAD to PHP converter: What should you actually compare?

A CAD to PHP converter is useful for understanding the benchmark conversion. However, it should not be treated as the final cost calculator.

When comparing services, check four numbers:

  1. Reference or mid-market rate
  2. Customer exchange rate
  3. Explicit transfer or payment fee
  4. Final PHP amount received

The fourth number is the most important.

For example, Provider A could quote 44.00 PHP per CAD and charge 15 CAD.

Provider B could quote 43.60 PHP per CAD with no visible fee.

On a 1,000 CAD transfer:

  • Provider A: 44,000 PHP before its fee
  • Provider B: 43,600 PHP

If Provider A deducts 15 CAD, the effective result becomes roughly 43,340 PHP.

Provider B could therefore provide the better outcome despite advertising a weaker-looking rate.

This is why the best CAD to PHP rate is not necessarily the highest number displayed on a converter.

How much is 1,000 CAD in PHP?

At Wise’s displayed rate of 43.6178 PHP, 1,000 CAD would convert to 43,617.80 PHP. At Pluang’s displayed rate of 44.4739 PHP, the same amount would equal 44,473.90 PHP.

The difference is 856.10 PHP before transfer fees, bank charges or additional provider margins. Because the quotations may use different timestamps and methodologies, the difference should not automatically be treated as a saving.

For a large transfer, however, even small rate differences can become material.

CAD to PHP chart: What should you look for?

A CAD to PHP chart is more useful when it provides context rather than only displaying a single price.

Look for:

  • 24-hour movement
  • 30-day high and low
  • 90-day trend
  • 52-week range
  • Percentage change
  • Date and time of the quoted price

Wise’s displayed 30-day range was 42.9971 to 43.7304. Its 90-day range extended from 42.0959 to 43.7304.

Pluang showed a 52-week range of 40.2185 to 46.6652.

These ranges demonstrate that the exchange rate can move meaningfully over longer periods.

However, historical performance should not be interpreted as a forecast.

How do I get the best CAD to PHP rate?

Don’t just look at the highest headline number, compare the whole transaction for a competitive rate.

Begin with the same CAD amount and destination. Then, compare the quoted PHP payout, transfer fee, payment method and delivery time.

Calculate the effective cost for repeated transfers for multiple transactions. “It’s not a big deal to save 1% but it can add up over a year.

The calculation for businesses should also take into account the settlement time, liquidity needs, reconciliation costs and operational overheads.

This is where modern cross-border payment infrastructure may be more relevant than just a currency converter.

A simpler approach to sending CAD to PHP

For the consumer, the priority is often simple: send CAD and make sure the recipient receives as much PHP as possible.

The problem is bigger for businesses.

A company might need to collect payments in one currency, convert funds, pay suppliers in another market, support local payment methods, and settle balances in multiple currencies.

Different providers for each function can lead to fragmented payment flows.

That complexity can be reduced by a unified infrastructure approach.

How TransFi approaches cross-border payments

TransFi’s infrastructure combines global collections, payouts and local payment methods and stablecoin rails via a single API.

For businesses that are engaging in cross-border transactions, this is a key consideration as the FX rate is just one element of payment efficiency.

The wider system has to manage payment routing, local rails, settlement and reconciliation.

TransFi provides cross-border payment infrastructure via Checkout, Ramp and API. Its positioning is particularly relevant for businesses that are looking to connect local payment methods with stablecoin-powered settlement.

For example, a business expanding into the Philippines may have to accept local payment methods familiar to them, while maintaining a global settlement layer. A single API can simplify the underlying payment architecture instead of having to build separate integrations for every market.

For businesses specifically exploring [live CAD/PHP rate], [sending CAD to Philippines], [transfers from North America to Philippines] and [payment methods in Philippines], the relevant comparison should extend beyond the FX quote.

The question is, “What is the total cost and operational complexity of moving money from payer to recipient?

TransFi’s model is based on that bigger cross-border payment problem, not just showing a currency conversion rate.

Is a “zero-fee” CAD to PHP transfer actually free?

Not necessarily. A provider could have no obvious transfer fee, but make money on the spread on the exchange rate.

For example, if the market reference rate is 44.00 PHP but the customer is given a rate of 43.12 PHP, the difference is a 0.88 PHP reduction per CAD.

That works out to 880 PHP on 1,000 CAD.

So always look at “zero fee” alongside the exchange rate and what you will ultimately receive.

How often does the CAD to PHP rate change?

Foreign exchange markets are dynamic and the CAD/PHP rate can fluctuate during the trading day. Private currency platforms may change their rates at short notice, whereas official reference rates may follow a fixed release schedule.

Interest-rate expectations, economic data, commodity prices, currency flows and broader market sentiment can drive the rate.

This is why a rate presented in the morning may not be the same rate offered several hours later.

Conclusion

The CAD to PHP exchange rate is more than what is shown on a currency converter.

On 8 October 2026, published quotes ranged from 43.6178 PHP per CAD on Wise to 44.4739 PHP on Pluang, with a mid-market quote also on XE. These differences are why the provider, timestamp, and rate methodology are important.

More importantly, the headline exchange rate does not tell the whole story of the cost of a transaction.

A provider may charge an explicit fee, use an exchange rate spread or both. Even a small percentage difference can make a big difference in the amount you get on large transfers.

The most reliable comparison is therefore straightforward:

CAD sent → effective exchange rate → total fees → PHP received.

This helps people find out the real cost of remittances. The same principle applies to companies’ payment routing, local rails, settlement and treasury infrastructure.

The highest advertised rate doesn’t always translate to the best CAD to PHP transaction. It’s the one that provides the most powerful end result, with clear costs and a reliable route to payment.

FAQs:

1. Is CAD stronger than PHP?

If the CAD/PHP quote is larger than 1, then the Canadian dollar is worth more than the Philippine peso in terms of nominal currency value. But it doesn't tell us which economy or currency is truly stronger. Exchange rates are the market price of one currency against another.

2. What is the difference between CAD/PHP and PHP/CAD?

CAD/PHP indicates the number of Philippine pesos needed to buy 1 Canadian dollar. PHP/CAD reverses the pair, displaying how much Canadian dollars are worth for one Philippine peso. The two rates are mathematically inverse and are susceptible to market pricing and rounding error.

3. Is the mid-market rate the rate I will receive?

Usually not. The mid-market rate is a benchmark, really. A bank, exchange service or payment provider may put on a spread or a separate transaction fee before passing on the final rate to the customer.

4. How much is 100 CAD in PHP?

Wise’s displayed rate is 43.6178 PHP per CAD. (100 CAD = 4361.78 PHP) But after you add in things like transfer fees, payment costs or margins on currency rates, the amount you would really receive could be less.

5. Can CAD/PHP rates be different across websites?

Yes. Liquidity, reference rates and calculation methodology may be updated at different times by different providers. Some platforms may also receive CAD/PHP via USD, which can contribute to timing and rounding issues.
